Master of Planning Ahead

Most every evening and morning, I am preparing for what I will need the next day by packing the mommy van so everyone has what they will need. I’m messaging numerous people to work out logistics and constantly trying to stay ahead of the game so things will go smoothly. I’m pretty good at this task, but there is someone far better than me and when all my preparation falls apart because life happens, I know that it was as planned. Sometimes my challenges are so numerous and frequent, I feel like God is say “It’s time to grow”. Fortunately, I know these challenges are opportunities to grow closer to him. Frustrating as it may be, my faith in God’s mastery of my life, supersedes my plans. God is the ultimate in preparing the way. So when we follow his way and trust his plan, things tend to fall into place. Even when we have trials, he knows those are going to come and will always provide a way out. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Pastor Anthony Wade of Faith Building Church gave an insightful sermon about abundance. He used his personal study of the creation to show that in everything, God provided for what was to come next. Day 6 couldn’t have happened before day 5 which couldn’t have happened before day 4 which couldn’t have happened before day 3 and so on. When God rescued the Israelites from Egypt and sent then to wander in the desert for 40 years, he provided manna for them every single day, except Sundays because that was a day for rest) and quail at night so they would not be hungry. God planned ahead for Daniel in the lion’s den (Daniel 6:22) and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:19-27). He even knew what was going to come for an old widow Naomi and her widowed daughter-in-law Ruth (read the book of Ruth). God prepared the way for his own son by sending John the Baptist! Speaking of which, God planned to send his son from the very beginning of time because he knew we would need him and boy does this world need Jesus!

Think of your own life or even your day. Has one thing easily flowed into another? I’ve had days where I’ve had numerous cancellations and right after those cancelations came in, I received requests from other people needing a treatment. Last year I flew to AZ for a course for the first time in over 10 years! This happened to be at the same time my mom planned a trip to AZ. During her trip she needed me to come help her. How convenient that I was already in AZ. I had thought of visiting with her and my relatives before I left, but was concerned about being gone for so long. Low and behold, God paved the way because that is what he does. He is always way more than one step ahead of us. He planned our whole life out for us according to Psalm 139:16 “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be”.

So you know how the Bible says over 600 times to not be afraid? We do not have to be afraid because God has put everything into place to help us. Isaiah 55 says “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” He knows what is to come and will make it for the good just like he did for Joseph who told his 11 brothers “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” Genesis 50:20. In the myofascial release terms, we say with 100% conviction, “I am safe” because you are.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Voyage to HEAL Weekly Task

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to trust in your ways and see you in every event and every person I encounter. Let me hear your words of wisdom and trust that you are in control and always looking out for my good. Heavenly Father, I know you are always watching over me, guiding me, and loving me. Maximize my faith so that no doubt can penetrate your love. Help me to trust in your plan that I may live a life to honor and serve you. May I find safety in you. In Jesus’ name Amen

Stretch: Since we are focusing on God’s plan and trusting that we are safe when we follow his plan because he has paved the path for us, let’s do a hamstring stretch. Those hamstrings can get so tight sitting for prolonged periods of time. This can pull on the back quite a bit. Lay on your back, knees bent, and extend 1 leg up. Gently rub on the back of this leg as described in the video below.

Exercise: Since we’re stretching the hamstrings, let’s strengthen them as well. Laying on your back with knees bent, activate the pelvic floor and core, and then lift your bottom off the ground. Hold for 5 seconds and lower. Repeat this 3 times and then do 5 controlled lifts up and down without a pause.

Habitual Change: Ever notice that you stand with 1 foot turned out? Try to gradually turn that foot straight forward. Don’t forget to notice that foot in sitting as well.

Perspective enlightenment: Lord, I trust in your plan for me and that you have provided all I need in order to do what you are asking me to do.

Journaling option: Lord, show me how you have paved the way for me to this point and let my ears be open to ways I can serve you?

This week’s blog post is dedicated to my dear friend, Suzy Lundy. She had a wild life with a lot of adventure and so incredibly filled with love. Even before she dedicated her life to the lord and professed her faith in Jesus Christ, she was serving him by how she treated people and animals around her. Suzy always went full speed ahead and trusted that things would work out ok. Suzy was an admirable friend. We never know how many days we have left, but when our time comes, I pray that we pass with 100% assurance that we know where we are going. Believe in the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Live for the Lord and someday you will be living with the Lord in his glorious kingdom like my friend Suzy. That is my prayer for you.
