Our house

I just came to a realization that I need to share with all the other house moms out there that go crazy trying to keep their house clean and organized.
You know how we exert a lot of energy teaching our kids to share? Well, I just realized that I am not practicing what I preach.
I love my house. I take pride in my house. I want my house to be inviting and a place people love to come to and feel welcome. I guess my house is my shrine.
Do you see the problem with this? It’s not just my house. It is our house. I share my home with a husband, 2 daughters, 2 dogs, and a tank of fish. It is our house, not a “my” house. Just because I want it one way doesn’t mean I can have it that way because we all live in it.
So, here is my permission to let go of “my” house so it can be our house and we can all be happy sharing and living in this space. My husband can keep the basement disorganized, my kids can hang pictures up that they are proud of and clutter their dressers with things that make them happy, and no one can touch my sunroom so I have at least 1 my space in the house. 😁
So, here’s to Our House.
