It is spring time and I am seeing a lot of people who’s allergies are really clogging up their system. There are several things that you can do to help relieve this congestion.
- Look at what foods may trigger you. For me, it was sugar. I would eat something sugary and instantly get congested. Another friend of mine found that dairy products did the same thing to her. Yep, that means keeping a food diary or just really being aware of your body’s response to various foods.
- Drink water. Drinking water helps to flush out the system.
- Breath using your belly
- Exercise. Movement get these lymphatic system, which is responsible for the congestion, flowing throughout the body.
- Get a manual lymphatic drainage treatment or self treat yourself. You can purchase a complete self lymphatic drainage video series with handout out right here. Manual Lymphatic Drainage Video Download

Sinus congestion can also be symbolic of too much going in your life and the flow of energy is getting clogged. Spring time does mean a lot more outdoor work to do on top of all the inside work that you are doing. Different sporting events pick up and vacations, etc. etc. When too much is going on we get bogged down, just like our sinuses. Our environment can also get clogged up with things that just take up space. So, when your body is congested, take a look at your environment physically and your invironement emotionally. Are they congested, too? Simplify. Experience a lazy day every so often and book free days into your schedule. Get a big project done and then rest. Trying to get everything done and be perfect is like a dog chasing it’s tail… pointless.
