Could you convert your thoughts to love what you hate?
You may be thinking, “Why would I ever want to do that!” Negative thoughts, feelings, and connections are leaches to your happiness, that’s why.
Think of this. How many times do you replay in your mind a negative interaction verses a positive one? I remember teaching a class of 100 participants and 99 reviews came back fabulous, but that 1 less than great review stuck in my mind. Fortunately, I remembered an orientation I was at many years ago in which the HR department said never worry about a poor review because those are the people that are just unhappy in general and nothing you say or do will change their mind.
So, that makes sense. We are not responsible for other people’s actions or responses as they are not responsible for ours. Take this opportunity to look in the mirror and see your reflection as whatever you hate. A Course in Miracles says that hating something is like hating yourself because we are all one. We can not exist without each other.
Look at what you hate and see yourself. Try to share the smallest amount of love for what you hate. It may be hard, but find just 1 thing to love. Remember love can be a thank you, compassion, empathy, or admiration to name a few. What if it’s you that you hate?
The first place to start with infusing love is to yourself. Love all of you. Touch the part of you that you do not love and say, “I love this part of my body”. The rest of your body couldn’t function properly without the entire body. Something would be missing. Here is a meditation just for that.
Hate will bring you down especially if it’s you that you hate or if you have spent years holding a grudge or seeking revenge. You are only hurting yourself! Say the word and feel it’s heaviness. That is why our root Chakra is at the tailbone and sacrum closest to the ground and centered on protection and defending ourselves.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the crown Chakra is the top of the head, which connects us with God. It is centered around love. Love will lift you up. Say the word love and see how it feels. Love is light and airy allowing you to soar and connect with God. God is love. When you allow love into your life, you open your doors to the endless miracles of God.
Test it out and let me know how it feels.
