Break the cycle of the past

posted in: Weekly blog 0

Have you ever noticed how history repeats itself? How do I get myself beyond where I am to where I want to be and break the cycle of my past?

I was listening to an Oprah and Deepak Chopra meditation in which Oprah quoted a friend saying, “May pain knock on my door and not leave until I get the message”. That’s a strong person to say that they are willing to invite pain in so it will force a lasting change upon them. This is transcending.

Marianne Williamson, in The Age of Miracles, wrote a beautiful passage about transcending. “Growth can be hard, and laboring a new self very difficult. Growing older just happens; growing wise is something else again. And by a certain point in life, most of us have been hurt. We have been disappointed. We have had dreams die, and find it hard to forgive ourselves and others. The challenge of age is not to skip life’s disappointments but to transcend them. We transcend them by learning the lessons they taught us, however painful, and coming out on the other side prepared to create, with God’s help, a new life”. She follows this with a prayer that I feel is a gift to anyone reading her book and a gift I share with you now:

Dear God,
May my spirit be reborn, that I might be a better person.
I give you my shame over whom I have sometimes been
and my hopes for whom I wish to be. Please receive them both.
Amen

May this transcending lead you to a better place. May the pressure that you are placing on yourself to hold onto the old ways dissipate and reveal a beautiful sunrise leading to a new way of life. May any fears or worries that have entered your mind and heart lift from you and be replaced with faith and trust that you are safe. I pray that you do not fall victim to fears of the physical body and instead see yourself as a soul on a spiritual journey of life. Then, you can live in peace and security that nothing will ever harm you because your spirit can never be hurt. Live with the faith that God will always take care of us. Go. Transcend to a higher place of pure bliss. Bring Heaven here on earth. Live joyously! That is how it was meant to be. Rejoice!

When what you thought was right, no longer seems right then you have transcended to a new form of right.

Weekly Voyage to HEAL Tasks

Stretch: Manual Lymphatic drainage of the neck, neck stretches, and opening the chest with the foam roller or rolled-up towel. Transcend by taking care of yourself and giving yourself more time to stretch. Let’s go!

Exercise: Grab a couple of cans of vegetables and bench press 8 times. Keep your core activated, inhale as you lift your arms up, and exhale as they come down. Do this laying down or in standing just make sure that your core is on.

Habitual Change: Drink more water! Water is the source of life and you should be drinking half your body weight in ounces each day. If you are active, you should drink your body weight in ounces each day.

Perspective Enlightenment: I transcend beyond the hurt to joy.

Journal Option: What is your repeating pattern? How can you view this differently feeling loved and supported? Transcend beyond the hurt.

Godspeed on your Voyage to HEAL

Love,

Jocelyn
