What is Faith in God

posted in: Weekly blog 0

Belief is driven by you and is only a partial hope that things will get better. It lacks conviction. Faith is a 100% trust that you will be healed. Remember that healing comes in many forms. When you have faith in God’s plan, you will see His healing taking into effect for He is good all the time.

Why should we put our faith in God when we’ve felt let down so many times? God doesn’t make bad things happen or take them away necessarily. God is our strength at all times. He loves us at all times. He will never let us down or leave our side. We are never alone! He will love us unconditionally. His grace and mercies are endless. When something good happens, we say “Thank God”. When something bad happens, we plead for his help. Even fair-weather fans will turn to God in moments of desperation as if we do not need him always. Babylon challenges us to do everything on our own. Be independent. Do not rely on others. You can do this.

Not without God you can’t! We need his love. We need his grace. We need his guidance. Healing does not take place without faith in God.

Take for instance, plantar fasciitis. Those of you who have had plantar fasciitis know that getting rid of it is not as easy as stretching your calf muscle and wearing a boot at night. It is a very complex process of trial and error and relentless searching to find relief. God knows the answer. Pain may not completely disappear, but relying on God’s peace will get you through your pain. This pain may have a divine purpose. Ever thought of praising God for the strength to endure the pain or the insight into what other people go through or for keeping you from doing what you really want to do?

Sounds strange, but think of the Apostle Paul. He was held captive for over 5 and a half years and endured several beatings. He had to have been physically hurt, but his FAITH never let him fully experience it. He kept preaching the Word and converting fellow prisoners and guards to follow Christ. Even when receiving moldy bread, he probably thanked God for the feed he was given. In Romans 8:5, 9-10 Paul writes Live to Praise and honor God the most high.

When we live a life of faith and praise, we no longer live, but Christ lives in us. Galatians 2:20.

When Christ lives in us, we have God’s never-ending salvation of peace, love, forgiveness, protection, and Heaven here on earth. Faith is required, not just belief,

Belief is acknowledging the presence of God. Faith is trusting in his plan for you.

As you write your goals for this year, include God. As you complete your stretches, praise God and find peace with your present situation. Ask God for his comfort and his guidance. You could even ask God, “How can I serve you in my present condition”.

Psalm 32:8 The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

Voyage to HEAL Weekly Task

Stretch: As you are sitting in a chair, without shoes on, tuck your toes under your feet. Feel that glorious stretch along the top of your foot and shin. To enhance this stretch, sit on the floor or your bed with your feet tucked underneath you. Never force a stretch

Exercise: Activate your core in standing and rise up and down on those toes. To make this even more challenging, let your heels hang off of a step. Please hold onto a railing while doing this. Can you do this 10-15 times?

Habitual Change: Do a postural check for what position your feet are in while sitting and standing. Go for variety. I noticed that I cross my right foot over my left while at the computer. I was starting to get pain in my right knee from doing this. Of course, I changed this, and the pain went away.

Perspective enlightenment: Lord, I hold strong to my faith in all that I experience. If I couldn’t walk or use an arm or see or speak, you would still love me and have a plan for me. Please, show me the way.

Journaling option: God, how can I serve you?
